Fundamentals of Psychic Development
Basic concepts on psychism
What is Parapsychology?
Parapsychology is the scientific study of psychic phenomena and human abilities that appear to transcend known physical mechanisms. It includes the study of clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition, and other forms of extrasensory perception.
📚 Definition
Systematic study of experiences that defy conventional physical explanations.
🔬 Methodology
Use of scientific methods to study phenomena without a known physical cause.
🧠 Abilities
The main abilities studied: ESP, psi, and near-death experiences.
The four major abilities under study
Telepathy: perceiving the thoughts or emotions of another person without any known physical channel. Clairvoyance: knowing information about objects, places, or events without being present. Precognition: perceiving future events before they occur. Psychokinesis: influencing physical systems through thought alone. The first three are receptive (information coming in); the fourth is active (intention projecting outward). Each has been studied with specific methodologies.
Difference between intuition and psychic ability
Intuition is the subconscious processing of real sensory information (body language, micro-expressions, implicit memory). It is fully recognised by cognitive psychology. Psychic ability, by definition, operates without any known sensory channel — which is precisely what makes it controversial. In practice, the two are difficult to distinguish: many "correct intuitions" are brilliant subconscious reading, not necessarily anything paranormal.
Why practise anyway
Whether you are a sceptic or a believer, psychic attention exercises train something demonstrable: the capacity for concentration, sensitivity to detail, body awareness, and stress management. If after months of practice you detect no clear signs of psychic ability, you will probably have gained anyway: more calm, more presence, a better ability to read people.
